What exactly does GetPlumbing! offer?

Quite simply it is a set of materials written by experts, designed to teach you the theory of plumbing.

Is the course for me?

The course is deigned for complete beginners through to experienced, but perhaps rusty practitioners.

I haven't done coursework for ages - will it suit me?

The materials have been written by teachers, and laid out by expert editors to make the process of learning as easy as it can be - and don't forget, unlike when you were at school, you are volunteering to do this and things are always easier when you really want to do it!

What exactly do I get?

Each module contains clearly laid out materials with a wealth of illustrations, some tests (both online and offline) and access to our correspondence support line - see course materials.

How do I learn?

When you receive the modules you order, you will have full instructions and clear guidance on the format of the course. You then have to dedicate time to studying the materials and completing the tests - you have to do the rest!

How long will it take me to complete one level?

This will relate to the time you allocated to it, any prior experience you have had. The average person will be able to complete one full level (Introduction or advanced) in approximately 3 months based on spending 30 minutes per day.

What qualification can I achieve?

This course gives you all the theory relating to NVQ2&3. To obtain these exams, you will have to have built up a portfolio of evidence and have been overseen by a qualified on the job assessor. We can arrange this via our practical training facilities. Lastly you will then have to enrol for the relevant NVQ (or C&G) exams.

Do I need to complete the (Intro) course before I start the (advanced)?

Unless you have significant experience in plumbing already, we would suggest that you do - the introductory level is full of facts you will need, and Level 3 assumes you know everything we have covered in Level 2.

What happens if I do not have access to a computer to do the on line tests and learning games?

They are optional so do not worry if you miss them, although we hope you can get to a library or Internet café to see how these materials can help you.

What sort of practical guidance do you provide?

The course is packed full of suggestions so that you can try a number of routines at home, but we are also organising summer workshops (see workshops) for those wanting to take things on further.

What happens if I get stuck?

Purchasers of the full levels have access to our advisory service - under guidance of our advisory panel, and we will endeavour to assist any queries you have concerning the course.

Is it safe to order online?
